Shawn’s impounded motorcycle brings him and Gus to the courthouse to get it back. When they return to the office emptyhanded, they catch a story about a woman, Sandra Panitch, who is charged with killing the Channel 8 weatherman. However, Shawn remembers seeing Sandra at the courthouse and is convinced that she is not guilty. A brief encounter with her disheveled lawyer, Adam Hornstock, is enough to inspire Shawn to join the case. He and Gus jump on board as legal consultants. Although they have very little experience in law, help arrives covertly from some unexpected people.
